Uncover the truth. Protect your interests.

Raptor Investigations and Protection Services, Inc. is a licensed, California-based private investigative firm serving attorneys, corporations, and the operators who move Central California's economy. Two specialized divisions. One standard — get it right, keep it quiet, and deliver evidence that holds.

Division One

Raptor Investigations & Consulting

Traditional technical & concierge investigations

We investigate crimes — fundamentally and literally — using our company's leverage, experience, databases, law-enforcement relationships, technology, and tenacity. When we close out, what's left is a complete case file: documented, organized, and ready for whatever comes next.

When law enforcement wants to pick the matter up, they inherit a clean foundation to springboard from. When they don't, the file still stands on its own.

Paul Lopez

Over 34 years total law enforcement and private investigations experience.
Decades on patrol, investigations & rural-crime task forces

Paul founded Raptor on a simple thesis: the operators who keep Central California running deserve an investigator who knows the geography, knows the work, and answers the call. Paul is personally California-licensed, and an on-camera expert contributor on the Amazon Prime series World's Most Evil Prisoners.

What only Raptor does

Five things most firms can't.

Operational specifics from the field — the parts of the work that separate a working rural-crimes practice from a generic PI shop.

No. 01

Bait wire with hidden tracking.

Copper itself doesn't carry serials — so we don't pretend to trace it. We deploy bait wire with concealed tracking devices and work the recovery from there.

No. 02

FAA Part 107 thermal aerial work.

Thermal-capable drone operations flown by our contracted Part 107 specialist — a retired law-enforcement and former SWAT operator. Documented patterns and footage — not gut feels.

No. 03

Asset, Infrastructure & Threat Assessments.

150–200 page deep-analytic books in chapter format — current status, vulnerabilities, recommended hardening (encasements, conduits, cages), with photographs and a glossary. No one else delivers this.

No. 04

Raptor Overwatch Systems.

Solar, rapid-deploy 16–25 ft towers with LE-grade tech, blue strobes, two-way audio, and 24/7 monitoring options. We don't just record — we intervene.

No. 05

Law enforcement & operator network.

Working relationships with law enforcement agencies, ag commissioners, energy operators, and the foreman next door. Calls get returned because the bench has been here for thirty years.

Raptor Overwatch Systems

Total Dominance Over Your Critical Assets.

Picture the massive, high-visibility security towers protecting major corporate lots — now imagine that level of deterrence engineered with law-enforcement-grade technology, built specifically for the dirt, dust, and isolation of agricultural, oil & gas, and utility environments.

Rapid-Deployment Mobile Overwatch

Our autonomous mobile towers are 100% solar-operated. We can drop them anywhere — the middle of a 500-acre ranch, an isolated oil field, or a vulnerable utility grid. Standing 16 to 25 feet in the air, these systems provide total overwatch:

  • Law-Enforcement MimicryContinuous flashing blue strobes and motion-activated, high-intensity floodlights designed to mimic an active law enforcement presence.
  • Two-Way Audio EngagementWe don't just watch — we speak. Built-in two-way comms let us address intruders in real time and notify them response teams are en route.
  • Remote Monitoring & AlarmsIntegrated alarm triggers. Optional 24/7 remote monitoring through our partnered monitoring company, with customizable packages tailored to the client.
  • Elite Optics4K recording, 360° PTZ, AI vehicle and facial recognition, thermal imaging, LPR, and Starlight illumination.

Wherever a Raptor mobile tower is deployed, crime is virtually eliminated — the visual deterrence and active engagement stop thieves in their tracks before a lock is ever cut.

Permanent Infrastructure Upgrades

Where mobile towers offer a rapid, go-anywhere solution, we also engineer and install Permanent Overwatch Systems — hard-mounted into the infrastructure of agricultural facilities, rural compounds, and utility sectors for an impenetrable, permanent layer of asset protection.

Aerial Operations

Thermal aerial work, flown by a tactical specialist.

Our aerial operations are flown by a dedicated Raptor contractor — a retired law-enforcement officer and former SWAT operator who is FAA Part 107 certified, with real-world tactical drone experience. Thermal-capable flights for perimeter sweeps, harvest-window surveillance, infrastructure inspection, and search support in coordination with sheriff's offices — a specialized asset on the Raptor team.

From the Field

Investigations, not security.

Real work, documented as it happens — in tactical gear, in marked PI identification, with evidence handled to standard. This is what separates an investigation from a guard post.

Why Raptor

Quiet competence. Complete case files.

Three standards we hold every engagement to — without exception.

01

Discretion by design

What happens in our office stays in our office. Confidentiality isn't a policy line — it's how the firm operates, from intake through final deliverable.

02

Evidence that holds

Every case is built for the place it may end up — a deposition, a trial, or a boardroom. Methodology and documentation are done to a standard that survives scrutiny.

03

We aren't outsiders.

Raptor and our specialized contractors are Kern County natives and Bakersfield neighbors who deeply understand this culture, geography, and legal terrain. We take it personally when criminals strike or victimize our stakeholders. We refuse to just take reports and passively observe — we operate with a fierce sense of justice to actively protect and defend our community.

Capabilities

Field investigation. Technical intelligence. One firm.

Unlike typical firms with limited reach, Raptor leverages multiple national platforms and a technical data-mining infrastructure to deliver deep-dive intelligence built from several sources and validated in the field.

Multiple National Databases

Law-enforcement-grade database infrastructures — including some of the most advanced platforms available in the country.

LPR Technology

License Plate Reader technology deployed in surveillance and pattern-of-life investigations where vehicle intelligence matters.

Mobile & Fixed Surveillance

Discreet, professional surveillance conducted by experienced investigators, documented to evidentiary standard.

FAA Part 107 Drone Operations

Thermal-capable aerial operations flown by our contracted FAA-licensed Part 107 specialist — a retired law-enforcement and former SWAT operator.

Legal Skip Tracing

Skip tracing built on the same category of tooling used by law enforcement agencies, layered with field work and OSINT.

Legal Asset & Banking Locates

Conducted through lawful, approved methods for litigation support, judgment recovery, and due diligence.

Background & Due Diligence

Layered background investigation for hiring, partnerships, pre-litigation, and corporate risk.

Witness Locates & Interviews

Locate, approach, and interview witnesses — documented to a standard that holds up under cross-examination.

Infrastructure & Threat Assessment

RCIC's signature analytic product — current status, vulnerabilities, and recommended hardening, in chapter format.

Theft, Vandalism & Equipment Recovery

Bait-wire programs, tracking strategies, and recovery work for copper, equipment, and high-value rural assets.

Embezzlement & Internal Investigations

Quiet, contained internal investigations for corporate counsel — financial misconduct, executive conduct, due diligence.

Criminal Investigations — Technical & Non-Technical

Technical and non-technical criminal investigations utilizing decades of prior law enforcement experience and resources.

Our Process

How we work with you.

Investigators, analysts, technology, and sub-specialists deployed against the scope, with status updates on your cadence.
